What 2017 taught me about life….

Dear 2017, I’m so happy you are almost over…

Each year that passes, we grow a little, …..mature a little…. and look forward to the new beginning ahead…usually…

I started this year with so much hope and excitement… that didn’t last long…

Sunday 8th January at 9:30 a.m. my heart and life were shattered in so many pieces… I will never be the same again… my princess, my best friend, my Adriana was gone…

2 weeks later, I found out I was pregnant, and our baby girl was born in September…

Why this happened?

How It happened?

Where do I go from here?

… I don’t know … but there are a few things I did learn this year.

1- Happily ever after doesn’t exist

I grew up on fairy tales, Cinderella and Snow White lived through hardships, but then one day after going through these hard times and sad days… they lived happily ever after…

In real life you will go through ups and downs… and some downs you may never fully recover from, but you still find a way to make it up again. The straight line of “happily ever after” doesn’t exist…

2- Tomorrow is not guaranteed

In a blink of an eye… an actual blink… your life will change forever.

Enjoy every single moment. Tomorrow is not guaranteed, so live today.

Say what you want to say, do what you want to do… don’t postpone…

3- Life is Fast

Days, years pass so fast…

Kids grow too fast… appreciate each moment because you will never get it back again…

4- There some people that will surprise you with their kindness

I will never have enough thank you’s to every single person that prayed, messaged, came and just sat next to my family silently while we cried and mourned this year…

This year taught me that love and kindness do exist!

Not everywhere but it’s there … find it and embrace it…

5–  Marriage is not an easy ride…

It’s no secret that many marriages fall apart after the death of a child. Everyone changes throughout a marriage, but it’s rarely so sudden and complete…. and so harsh… 80% (yes 80%) of marriages end in divorce after the loss of a child…

How do we stay as an US, when the biggest part of US is gone…

This year taught me that it’s easier to walk away and move on… but it takes so much more strength to stay…

6- The Power of Prayer

I wasn’t such a devout and religious person before this year. I always believed in God but never questioned His judgement or His presence in our lives. But ironically when our daughter passed I felt the messages and strength that I got from my prayer helped me get through those dark days and nights… and will keep me going during the dark ones that come.

7- The Power of Love

Adriana had so much love to give. If you knew her you could feel how much she loved everyone and everything…

This year I truly felt how much difference LOVE can do in changing the world. Just how important it is to say it, show it and feel it every moment of your life…

And HER love will change the world… this I promise you …
