Dear Social Media “Influencer”,

I am a believer in the fact that women should believe in themselves and empower THEMSELVES.

And once we can achieve this  – THE WORLD WILL CHANGE.

Stating this, I feel I need to address the “influencer” phenomena that is honestly getting out of hand.

Public platforms should be used carefully.

To actually bring about change and not promote insecurity among its viewers, jealousy and most of all FAKE lives.

I would much rather you bring awareness to Breast Cancer than instagramming your own breasts for the likes.

What we as women should be doing is embracing our beauty and acknowledge how beautiful each one of us is, but also embrace how beautiful we are inside too.

Yes, do post style, fashion, make up advice… if you actually have experience or a sense in these… but only if this is promoting positive self and body awareness and love with your viewers.

Not so that you can get free goods and promote brands for your own gain.

Promoting or advertising products is not wrong, I will do it on many occasions – but this does not mean that my sole purpose and existence is based on it.

And as a “public figure” what are you doing to make this world a better place.

What message are you delivering to the hundreds and thousands of little girls, women and men that follow you?

From the first moment I chose to start a blog in 2014 and created the first women’s empowerment event in Lebanon “ELLE FIESTA” –  was because I wanted to EMPOWER, INSPIRE and CELEBRATE motherhood. But most importantly Celebrate WOMEN and try to somehow bring about some kind of change – because I was personally feeling down and drained.

And now as I dive into the social media scene and meet the “big names” with followers (be them fake or real) in the thousands…makes me sad how superficial and bland our lives have become.

If each one of these women undertook just one initiative – whatever it might be, focused her page on it – can you imagine what a snowball effect it could have in the community? And why stop at one initiative? But just start! Please.

YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! THAT NEW DRESS YOU GOT IS FREAKING AMAZING!

BUT WE WANT MORE FROM YOU.

WE DESERVE MORE FROM YOU.

BE PART OF THE CHANGE. Join us on Saturday 10th of March 2018 at the HILTON HABTOOR HOTEL – SIN EL FIL and Be INSPIRED. The event is FREE to attend and open to the public.
